Slate or tiles: choosing a roof covering
Slate and tiles are both common roof coverings. The right one depends on the building and what is already there.
Slate
Slate is a traditional covering made from thin, flat pieces laid in overlapping rows.
Tiles
Tiled roofs are common across Kent and London and come in a wide range of materials and styles.
Matching the building
The age and style of the property, the pitch of the roof and the surrounding area all affect what suits. A roofer can advise on the options.
