GRP, felt or rubber: choosing a flat roof
Flat roofs are not all the same. The covering you choose affects how the roof looks, how it is installed and how it is repaired later.
GRP (fibreglass)
GRP is a fibreglass system laid as a continuous, seamless surface, often used on extensions, garages and outbuildings.
Felt
Felt roofing is built up from layers of roofing felt and has been used on flat roofs for a long time.
Rubber
Rubber roofing uses a single large sheet of rubber membrane, which can reduce the number of joins on the roof.
Which suits your roof
The right choice depends on the shape of the roof, how it will be used and the building it sits on. A roofer can look at it and explain the options.
